I’ve been an avid lover of Japan all my life, and when I finally had the chance to visit in 2014, I thought I was so ready. After all, I’d been preparing for this all my life.

But, in the end, it was the opposite. There was so much that I still didn’t know; and what was worse, was that I couldn’t appreciate Japan like I wanted to because I was so unprepared.

With Lovely Japan, I’ve created something that I wish I had to read while I was a Japan-obsessed tween; a place to learn about Japan in an interesting and relatable way. I talk about Japanese culture, and why knowing the culture will enhance your experience when you are lucky enough to visit.

I don’t pretend to be an expert, and I hope you will challenge me and become part of the conversation. I talk from my experience and hope you will also share yours – the fun is in sharing and discussing my passion with those who are just as enthusiastic as me!
